About PRA
Petrotechnical Resources of Alaska (PRA) was founded in 1997 by a group of five independent consultants. Currently managed by Chris Livesey and Tom Walsh, PRA has grown into a group of over 60 affiliated geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers.
Most of PRA's affiliates have in excess of 20 years in the oil industry with the bulk of that experience in Alaska. PRA's geologists, geophysicists and engineers have worked in every basin in Alaska on both exploration and development projects. From the North Slope to Cook Inlet, PRA consultants know and understand the regional geology, the unique operating conditions, and the regulatory environment. Read the recent PRA Company Profile in Petroleum News Alaska.
PRA has a state-of-the-art geoscience workstation with seismic interpretation, geologic, and petrophysical software. PRA has also developed a database of Alaska digital well logs which are available for sale. This capability allows smaller companies to enjoy the same advantages in Alaskan exploration that previously were available only to large integrated oil companies.
Whether you need a single wellsite geologist or an integrated consulting team for a large frontier basin project, PRA is Alaska's largest and most fully integrated petroleum consulting firm. Read the PRA Statement of Qualifications. View PRA's professional services rate schedule.
