Pirtle Bates, Jr. – Professional Landman

Mr. Bates has sixteen years of natural resource management experience in Alaska, primarily dealing with general land status and title, oil and gas leasing, oil and gas lease administration (including ownership), and oil and gas unitization.  Pirtle’s resource management experience comes from various positions with the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) from 1988 thru 2006.  During his tenure with the DNR he completed his bachelor’s degree; received his landman certification from AAPL; worked abstracting land status and title; had broad exposure to the full range of natural resources managed by the DNR; and spent 1995 – 2006 in the Division of Oil and Gas in various staff and management positions within the leasing and lease administration units, ultimately serving as Deputy Director of the division from December 2005 thru December 2006.
